Social Impact Studios, facilitated by the Engagement Lab, give Emerson students and faculty the opportunity to work directly with local grassroots changemakers to co-create media projects that will make an impact in Boston and beyond. Starting in Fall 2023, we will be offering Social Impact Studios in two initiatives: Transforming Narratives of Gun Violence and Transforming Narratives for Environmental Justice.

Social Impact Studios, facilitated by the Engagement Lab, give Emerson students and faculty the opportunity to work directly with local grassroots changemakers to co-create media projects that will make an impact in Boston and beyond.

Learn about our Fall 2023 Social Impact Studios

This 20-minute documentary is an honest and poetic reflection about the impacts and root causes of gun violence in Boston’s communities, as shared by survivors in their own words. Since its creation in our Documentary Social Impact Studio in spring 2022, the film has sparked meaningful conversations with community members affected by gun violence, medical professionals, elected officials, and stakeholders from fields such as trauma, emergency medicine, public health, research, policy and more.
